PHOTOGRAPHY DELIVERABLES & IMAGE DEFINITIONS

During a photography session, the photographer may capture a large number of images to ensure adequate coverage, creative options, and technical quality.
The total number of images captured during a session does not represent the number of images that will be delivered to the client.

Proofs are watermarked or unwatermarked preview images provided for image selection purposes.
Proof images may receive basic processing for viewing and selection but are not considered final edited images.
Proofs are not intended for publication, printing, advertising, marketing, or commercial use unless specifically authorized.

Unless otherwise stated in the project agreement, the client will select final images from a proof gallery provided by the photographer.
The number of images selected by the client does not alter the number of final edited images included in the project package.
Example:
• Proof Gallery Delivered: 250 Images
• Client Selections: 50 Images
• Final Edited Images Included: 20 ImagesAdditional edited images may be purchased at the current per-image editing rate.

RAW images are the original camera files captured during a photography session.
RAW files:
• Are unprocessed and unfinished
• Have not received color correction
• Have not received exposure adjustments
• Have not received cropping or straightening
• Have not received retouching
• May appear flat, dark, bright, or incomplete when viewed outside professional editing softwareRAW files are considered unfinished source material and are not delivered unless specifically contracted in writing.

RAW file delivery is not included with photography services unless specifically listed in the project agreement.
When available, RAW file delivery may be subject to an additional licensing and delivery fee.
RAW file delivery does not include:
• Color correction
• Exposure adjustments
• Cropping
• Retouching
• File organization
• Image selection assistance
• Additional editing services -
Color correction refers to the adjustment of images to achieve accurate and consistent appearance.
Color correction may include:
• Exposure adjustments
• White balance correction
• Contrast adjustments
• Color balancing
• Highlight and shadow recovery
• Cropping and straighteningColor correction is considered standard image processing and does not include retouching.

Retouching refers to detailed image enhancements beyond standard color correction.
Retouching may include:
• Skin cleanup
• Blemish removal
• Stray hair removal
• Wrinkle reduction
• Object removal
• Background cleanup
• Reflection removal
• Product cleanup
• Composite work
• Advanced image manipulationRetouching is billed separately unless specifically included in the project package.

Standard image editing includes color correction only.
Advanced retouching requests may be billed:
• Per image
• Hourly
• Per projectCurrent retouching rates will be provided upon request or listed in the project proposal.

The project agreement will specify the number of final edited images included with the photography session.
Unless otherwise stated:
The client receives:
• The agreed-upon number of final edited images
• High-resolution JPEG files
• Standard color correctionThe client does not automatically receive:
• Every image captured during the session
• RAW files
• Unedited files
• Project files
• Photoshop files (PSD)
• Lightroom catalogs
• Additional edited images beyond the contracted quantity -
If the client wishes to receive additional edited images beyond the quantity included in the project agreement, additional images may be purchased at the photographer's current editing rate.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, the photographer retains copyright ownership of all images.
The client receives usage rights as outlined in the project agreement.
Transfer of copyright ownership, RAW files, source files, or unrestricted rights must be specifically negotiated and documented in writing.

The client acknowledges that photography services include the delivery of the agreed-upon number of final edited images and that all images captured during the session, including RAW files and unselected images, remain the property of the photographer unless otherwise stated in writing.
The following definitions apply to all photography projects unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
